About Us
NLAA was founded to give new and established practitioners a way to obtain, practice, and advance their skills and thrive in the medical aesthetics industry.
A NATIONAL VISION
The National Laser and Aesthetics Academy will be a national model in aesthetics training, developing competent and ethical providers, in an inclusive community, rich in opportunities for student success!
OUR MISSION
The National Laser and Aesthetics Academy was founded with the mission of giving providers of diverse skill levels the ability to advance their career through didactic learning, hands-on training, and networking with providers throughout the United States.

When I started in the aesthetics industry
there weren’t resources available to help me gain experience and certification to open the doors to the opportunities I wanted to pursue. I started teaching as soon as I developed skills for serving the practice where I was working.
I have always loved helping others and answering their questions.
I’m patient and thorough and like to be a resource others for success and support them in their growth.

I started in the medical industry with the desire to help others. Now, I want to equip others to do the same.
Leadership
Prior to each course, NLAA students are given a professional bio and resume on their course instructor. For more information, email info@nlaatraining.us .
Maya is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a native of Georgia. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Emory University and attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham where she received her master’s degree to practice as a nurse practitioner. Maya has worked in emergency medicine, intensive care, and dermatology, but her passion lies in aesthetics. Maya is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, United Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Georgia, and Sigma Theta Tau International. Throughout her career, Maya has acquired over 20 certifications in the fields of nursing, medical aesthetics, dermatology, and clinical aesthetics. She has worked for two of the top medical aesthetics and laser medicine companies in the United States/Canada.
In April 2021, Maya co-established her first medical spa in Fayetteville, Georgia which soon expanded to a larger location to accommodate her growing patient load. Often in her practice, Maya would have to correct the mistakes of other treatment providers and re-educate her patients on a treatment’s indication and why certain treatments are necessary to achieve certain results. She noticed that safety and the efficacy of a treatment were the main sources of client concerns. Many of her patients would also refer their relatives to Maya to guide them through their medical and aesthetic journeys after graduating from school. Driven by her passion for helping people, Maya established the National Laser and Aesthetics Academy in 2023 which would become a national resource for both student treatment providers and clients. In April of 2024, Maya established the NLAA Treatment Center for clients to receive highly personalized and effective aesthetic treatments. With nearly a decade of experience in the field of medical aesthetics, Maya still enjoys getting to know and care for her patient base and is excited to welcome new patients and students!
